Location of the Project
:
Project activities are located at 112 upazilas of 56 districts.
[ List of Districts and Upazila ]
Main objective
:
The main objectives of this project is to make agriculture economically profitable and commercially viable by extension of agricultural engineering technologies through reduction of cost in every stage of operation in agriculture and losses of produced crops & related domestic resources so that our agriculture can sustain in competitive world economic situation.
Specific objectives
:
The specific objectives are as below:

  • To increase irrigated area, reduce cost of irrigation and enhance production through appropriate on-farm water management practices

  • To increase cropping intensity, reduce loss of grain/ crop and upgrade the quality of agricultural product through encouraging use of (pre & post harvest) agricultural machinery.

  • To employ the Agricultural Engineers at upazilla level in order to motivate the farmers using modern and engineering based technologies.

  • To reconstruct & to re-excavate canal and other water bodies on a partnership basis to increase use of surface water for irrigation purpose.

  • To impart training to the owners, operators, mechanics & users of irrigation equipment with a view to increase the efficiency and life of the machine.

  • To introduce internet based improved data base & census for minor irrigation & agricultural machinery with a view to modernize agricultural information system
